ArcaneJane ♠️ This is my intro to HUSH. They are an extremely expansive and powerful band. I found them refreshing from the POV of the elements of music they use. Melancholic for sure and resplendently nuanced and then they may just hit you over the head with something heavy and deadly. Really worth checking out 🤟🏽♠️ Favorite track: THE SOUND OF KINDNESS IN THE VOICE.

Darknight HUSH have created a beast of an album, superbly crafted songs with intoxicating heaviness and infectious beauty. I knew this album would be good but it's actually better than I originally thought, there's real depth and you'll find more parts to it the more you listen to The Pornography Of Ruin. Possible contender for AOTY🤘 Favorite track: ABOVE YOUR HEAD THEY CLOSE LIKE GIANT WINGS.

1.
one black point in an ocean of light swallowed in fire gradient bursts and curtain shimmers of colored waves in the eye of the flame the center void and dilating devouring the sight it calls out for my blood to hold me in it's stare. newborn and empty mirror, mask, and shade. formed of nothing, folded into my shape i embrace another self and disappear.
2.
a world constructed by failing eyes. starved of light divorced from time. blurred in warped lenses a crippled reality with the logic of a dream where you are born and born again bent with age and black with death. sightless in your suffering fragile in your need wandering reduced to a memory. your promise now unmade - words written in dust and blown away. just a forgotten name. just a forgotten face. paralyzed by fear the past is just a lie we make ourselves believe and the future is a blank, burning page.
3.
carrion comfort pure as instinct the ingrown silence a rootless, hollow tree its poison borne within the seed. abandonment and dissolution uncoil their tendrils where no eye sees but mine. this is a place where I lay still and open veined without sleep without dream there can be no forgiveness without the shedding of blood, empty me. bury me.
4.
so long you have dragged the heavy burden of your life. learned to mute the wild song in your veins collapse it's harmonies and turn away to see nothing but the shape of the blade and escape in it's gleam. no color but the shades of your pain, as it turns to grief. now brought to an end by this cold and wretched hand. as scavengers wait to sift through your ashes and stare through their masks, layers deep at all that is leaving you. like love's last regret, the moment of death is bitter and sweet. eternally beyond reach. bled into nothing. meant nothing. caught at the edge of your loneliness. all is leaving you. your heart broke and broke and broke, but never healed.
5.
death in the form of an endless, vivid present. futility yawns wide before my eyes. these blistered hands, in sacrifice bend toward the sun forever. with a prayer unheard. an offering left to rot, as the sweet decay still drips from the teeth of god. this path of totality describes an arc descending into the source of every desire and it's misery.
6.
sickened by our own inner fires we made a wound five hundred acres wide a disfigurement of riches upon our land a mirrored abyss of the voidness that constitutes ultimate reality and the origin of desire’s pain. there was a sound of kindness in the voice of those who called for our end that echoes now in the walls of this tomb but I didn't hear it then.
7.
I walked for miles through grey flatland each step a trial without your voice calling to me without your shadow bleeding into mine until it's dark expanse engulfs me. you were the sky where it meets the sea and your ruin was a wound too deep. so I sit alone and wait to die in the ash of paradise never been or meant to be. there is no end to anything just birth rebirth and pain.

about

"These guys sport a tremendous understanding of dynamics, and how important they become within the suffocating ponderings of sludge-doom. What results is an album that can serve as a hypnotic transmission as easily as a caustic apocalypse." - Max Heilman/Metal Injection
metalinjection.net

"Deeply personal and emotive, the material on The Pornography of Ruin has a weight that doesn’t come from merely the distorted guitars." - Wonderbox Metal
wonderboxmetal.com

"Long years logged in indie scenes have produced a slow fusion of extreme influences and unabashed preferences. The result is a giant-size juggernaut that feels iconoclastic, expansive, and mature, a record made by musicians confident in their talents and tastes. The Pornography of Ruin is an exercise in experiential doom, rather than an adherence to sonic dogma." - Diana Hurlburt for Invisible Oranges InvisibleOranges.com

"...a new album of what can only be described as a journey through face-melting sludge and hardcore ferocity that transcends through the ambient textures of post-metal and doom." - The Sleeping Shaman Webzine www.thesleepingshaman.com

"The Pornography Of Ruin is a crusher any way you slice it. In a scene where so often it feels like sludge metal has been done every which way with no real path forward for the genre, Hush have found a way to make it work. Their sound is visionary and unique, fusing ideas from their peers but executing them in ways that are exciting and wholly their own." - Matt Bacon/Two Guys Metal Reviews www.twoguysmetalreviews.com

"A sludge and doom metal core upholds an amalgamation of influences including hardcore, ambient and experimental sounds, elevating everything in an post metal hybrid with a deeply pessimistic atmosphere, infused with additional intensity and aggression." - ZR for DestroyExist.com
